Game Review For God Of War 1 On PS2

God Of War is an Action Adventure Game based on Greek Mythology. You Play as Kratos also known as "Ghost Of Sparta" a warrior in the service of the Gods of Olympus. Kratos's Primary Weapons are the deadly "Blades Of Chaos" (A pair of chain blades Forged in the depths of Tartarus) Kratos Must Defeat The God Of War, Ares.   

Kratos a Spartan Warrior is in service of The Gods Of Olympus and must battle his way through multiple levels filled with terrifying Creatures from Greek Mythology From Undead Warriors, Minotaurs to the menacing Hydra. The Game Revolves around Kratos carrying out a Mission from the Gods to stop the renegade God Ares. The game begins with an FMV of Kratos standing at the edge of a Cliff, then throws himself off the edge in an attempt at suicide Because he thought that the Gods had abandoned him, as Kratos plummets to his doom just before he crashes into the rocks below the FMV cuts out and a black screen suddenly appears with the words "Three Weeks Earlier The Aegean Sea" materializes on the screen then you see Kratos standing on a wreckage of a ship in the pouring rain, Kratos Draws the Blades of Chaos and the camera rotates to reveal a group of Undead soldiers, this is where the player takes over and controls Kratos and Fights off the Undead with an number of combos, aerial attacks and special moves, every now and then a small tutorial will pop up telling you the basic controls the first one will say " Square for light attack, Triangle for Heavy attack" then the next one will say " To Grab enemies press Circle". Once you have killed the first group of Undead Soldiers an FMV will start showing a trap door on the ship with chains holding it shut, but a second group of Undead Soldiers burst out from the trap door, then the FMV finishes you have to fight the second wave of Undead Soldiers. Once you have done this you can go to the Trap Door and Lift it up by repeatedly tapping R2 and then drop down and find a chest. As the game progresses you have to fight more powerful and tricky foes plus some terrifying Bosses including the Hydra and Ares, but as you progress you will acquire new weapons and powerful magic and special abilities God Of War is both educational and entertaining.

• Use powerful Combos and Special attacks to kill your enemies fast and easier.
  
• Gain new weaponry and magic powers as you progress through the levels.
• Upgrade your arsenal using red power orbs you collect from fallen enemies.
• Face Ferocious Bosses using all your strength to defeat them.
• Collect Gorgon Eyes and Phoenix feathers to extend your health and magic meters.
• Use God Powers to defeat your foes in one hit.
  

God Of War 1 is a great game with superb graphics and follows the Greek Mythology perfectly. I Would recommend this game to anyone who Loves action adventure games and gamers who have a passion for Greek Mythology. All in all God Of War is a must have for any Game collection.
